CAMP FACILITIES: Bethaday Community Learning Space (BCLS), the home of TAF, is a LEED-Silver certified multipurpose building, located in beautiful Lakewood Park in the White Center Area. BCLS is surrounded by trees, a small lake and fabulous picnic areas.

We offer a multipurpose room with a full kitchen, four technology-filled classrooms for our youth (equipped with SMART boards, A/V systems, and laptops for student use), an academic support room and plenty of outdoor space. There is ample parking and the building is ADA compliant.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: TAF campers learn cool, cutting-edge STEM skills while engaging in fun, hands-on projects.

Each session will feature a field trip to a museum, research site, or learning space that relates to the focus of the week.

DTNW has received several awards of excellence from the City of University Place has become a city partner and was recognized for over 26 years of service to the community in a “Proclamation” by the City Council and Mayor in 2012. Awards and Honors... DTNW's solid foundation of professional artistic tradition and continued development as a positive force in the community and the arts draws regional and national attention and support.

DTNW was one of the few studios in the nation to be included in Dance Magazine's special supplement “Secrets of Successful Studios” in June of 2007. DTNW's Community Outreach projects have grown in popularity and scope each year, generating several positive media reports including, articles in University Place Life, Goodlife Northwest, Showcase, Dancer and Dance Magazines.

Various awards and honors bestowed on the school and company include the 1998 Margaret K. Williams Arts Award from Pierce County Arts Commission, a Cultural Diversity Award in 1999 from Access Broadway of New York, and by the BRAVO film and arts network. In addition to regional and national awards as a choreographer and director, Melanie Kirk-Stauffer has been the recipient of numerous schoalrships in dance including Joffrey and San Francisoc Ballet, Banff School of Fine Arts and Interlochen Arts Academy. The mountains and meadows of Icicle Creek provide an open and beautiful backdrop with built-in opportunities for exploring. At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Guitar Workshop Plus is much more than just a guitar camp or summer music camp. We offer week long workshops in a musical environment at superb facilities. Our faculty members are professional musicians and instructors with extensive experience teaching in summer music programs, workshops, private settings, and post secondary institutions. Along with receiving visits from world famous guest artists, our top ranked summer music program allows students to participate in daily classes, clinics, ensemble and student performances, and evening concerts.

World famous guest artists such as Joe Satriani, Alex Lifeson (Rush), John Scofield, John Petrucci (Dream Theater), Robben Ford, Billy Sheehan, and many more teach and perform for our participants. CAMP FACILITIES: Have your child enjoy the beautiful scenery of the foothills of the Eastern Cascades. The lush green oasis of the Lazy F Camp and Retreat is nestled in the crisp golden scenery of Manastash Canyon. Daily visits from deer families add to the peaceful backdrop of trees, fields, ponds, and mountains. To add to the serenity, Manastash Creek innocuously flows through the center of the camp. We have a fishing pond, large dining hall, and cabins to accommodate over 120 campers.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Your child will have the opportunity to learn from world-class musicians, music educators, university professors, and highly experienced camp counselors. We have a large support staff which allows us to have excellent supervision and accommodations. The music faculty is comprised of experienced public school orchestra teachers, youth symphony conductors, symphony conductors, and university professors.

2017 Summer schedule has not been determined. It is typically in one of the last two weeks of July; Sunday through Friday.

Normal fee is $595. There is a $50 discount for early bird registration.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: While we only ask parents for 10% of the cost, for a camper to attend a program, we offer partial or full camperships for families who may not be able to afford the tuition for a program.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): We have a Brain Tumor Family Camp that is specifically designed for families with a child with a Brain Tumor diagnosis, and/or a Brain Tumor Survivor.

In addition, we have out "general" Family Camp for families with a child that has a cancer diagnosis, and/or are a survivor.

CAMP FACILITIES: One in-person camp will be held at the Georgetown Public Library in July 2025, located in Sussex County, DE.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Beginner coding skills are taught helping children learn sequencing and terms that grown up coders use everyday to create video games and more. Math and Science activities engage your child in learning and our ARTS program helps students understand how computer artists work in the field.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: This program can also be delivered through our TUTORING service by appointment during the summer.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The mission of US Performing Arts Camps is to promote and develop the growth of performing artists in America.

US Performing Arts Camps is considered the premier top tier summer program for training young people in the arts. Our programs are taught by the university or college departments and their professional faculty and guest professionals in their fields.

US Performing Arts offers programs in Animation, Computer Animation, Costume design, Directing, Film-making (including 4K High-definition), Dance, Hip Hop Dance, Musical Theater, Play-writing, Sit Com Writing, Sit Com Acting, Singing, Voice-over work for animation, movies and games, and we started the first College Audition Boot Camps for high school students.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: A limited number of partial scholarships are available through US Performing Arts. US Performing Arts will also work with parents on payment plans.

- Hands-on activities with real art materials (art camp should be a little messy!)

- Daily movement and mindfulness exercises integrated throughout the day to get the wiggles out

Camp tuition includes an Art Toolbox mailed to your home and a live exhibition every Friday that the whole family can attend, even those living far away.

Camp Staff:
Katerina Romanenko, Ph.D. Assistant Director of Youth and Family Programs

An experienced educator and visual culture historian, Dr. Romanenko specializes in Museum education, art history, American History, and object-based learning in formal and informal environments. She holds a PhD in Art History from the City University of New York and for more than 15 years teaches art history and works in Museum education. She also holds a BA in Education Sciences and has experience in research, development and implementation of educational programs for different age groups.

Alicia Mino, Art Educator, Manager of the School and Community Programs

An accomplished practicing artists and art educator, Alicia Mino received her Master’s in visual communication from the Metropolitan University of Chile, She spent fifteen years in Italy studying art history, oil painting, and sculpture. She presented in numerous art exhibitions and founded the Mates Art and Design Studio, where she taught drawing, oil/acrylic painting, and sculpture fundamentals for ten years. In 2008 Alicia moved to Philadelphia where she continues to exhibit her work and teaches art.

Lindsey Murphy, Art Educator and K-8 Program Coordinator

An art educator with over a decade of experience in the field of education, Lindsey Murphy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology; concentration in Archaeology from Millersville University, and an Elementary Teaching Certification from Millersville University. She worked as a general education classroom teacher in the Oxford Area School District in Chester County, PA for 8 years, and has worked in PAFA’s education department over the past 11 years creating and implementing numerous museum tours and art making experiences for children and families of all backgrounds, becoming the K-8 Program Coordinator in 2019..

Melissa Hendrixson, Art Educator

Melissa Hendrixson is an artist and art educator who has worked in Museum Education for over five years. She has her Bachelor's of Fine Arts and Studio Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has gained experience through assisting the coordination and development of various museum programming including family programs, youth art classes, and summer camps. She now works for the School and Community Partnership Program as an art educator where she develops and implements museum tours, school lessons, and community outreach programs to support student learning, parental engagement and visual literacy initiatives.
