CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Each student will participate in:

• A large ensemble—which will workshop and give the world premiere of a new work by one of the mentor composers
• A small ensemble—which will co-create, rehearse, and premiere new work(s) by the student participants
• A small home group—which will feature games and social activities
• (Optional) Two, hour-long private composition les- sons—which will give students professional feedback on their music and personalized instruction
• A final, virtual concert—on Friday, July 31, 2 PM EDT

CAMP FACILITIES: All campers stay in cabins. There is a large outdoor pool, large music shell, climbing tower, zip line, lake for canoeing, basketball court, horse back riding, archery range, baseball field and 1000 arces of redwoods.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This is the 54th annual camp. The Hayward La-Honda Music Camp is organized to challenge students in a variety of creative pursuits and is devoted to the development of musicianship for students grades 6-12. This is accomplished through a program of study, concentrated rehearsal, performance, recreation and general camp life.

The camp mission is to inspire young people to achieve their best musically, to enjoy a great social/recreational experience and take home memories that will last a lifetime. The program includes bands, orchestras, chorus, jazz bands and many elective classes. Some of the elective classes include, music theory, latin jazz, music composition, electronic music, conducting, double reed making, arts and crafts, chamber music and jazz improvisation.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers live in cabins (wooden buildings with canvas window and door coverings). Up to 10 campers and 2 or 3 staff members live together. Bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers are located nearby. Meals are served buffet style. We eat outside in the dining area. Food is excellent with fresh fruit, salad bar and hot entrees at each meal. Vegetarian and vegan meals are also available. Special diets can be accommodated with conversations ahead of time.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our camps take place in our theater and surrounding spaces. We have a mainstage, a green room/rehearsal room with mirrors, and some outdoor rehearsal space. We also share space with the Foster City Recreation department, and a local school.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Hillbarn Theatre Conservatory, formed in 2000, is a theatre arts education program serving the needs of youth and adolescents, ages 4-18, in Foster City and the mid-peninsula area.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our Story Ballet Camp is designed for students ages 3 to 5 and ages 6 to 8 to increase the love and appreciation of the art of dance while improving coordination, physical fitness, performance ability, self-esteem and discipline. A storybook theme will be offered during each session, and all activities will revolve around the ballet theme. There will be a demonstration at the end of the week for parents to attend.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Fei Tian Academy of the Arts California is a middle and high school with programs in classical Chinese dance, fine art, and music. We offer an after-school program for elementary and middle school aged students during the academic year, in addition to weekend classes in dance and fine art, and private lessons in piano, violin, and viola.

Nature Awareness:
Through focusing on nature awareness we encourage our students to experience what is happening around them, awakening curiosity and inspiration. When students are empowered to root in processes like making fire, foraging wild foods, making rope, and learning bird songs; they begin to feel capable of relaxing and deepening in the wilderness. We believe that learning skills of how to source our human lives from the abundant life around us grows respect; respect for the plants that heal our wounds, the sticks that give us warmth, and the creek that cools us. We develop a deepening gratitude to the elements that offer us life.

Regenerative Presence:
We use a variety of tools to inspire a regenerative presence on the planet. At Earth Path Education, we believe that the concept of regeneration is the key to a harmonious future here on Earth. We believe that as humans we can do more than not harm, we can actually feed all of creation with our beauty, our rituals, our songs, and our deep listening.

Village Building:
We hold necessary the role of the village in our Wilderness Rites of Passage ceremonies. It is the village that sends the initaites into their journeys, and the village that catches the initaites and witnesses the transformations. The rites of passage is also a key part to the health of the village, pumping all members with health, inspirations and vitality, bringing to the village the vision seeds that are to sprout us into a more harmonious way of relating.

Ceremonial Arts:
At Earth Path Education we are committed to the beauty way. We make earth offerings, and leave equsitie altars in the forest. We sings and dance, at each spring, we feed the fire with our stories and we compost our grief and our burdens, so that life can grow corn with it to feed the people. We pray for our lives, we pray for the earth. Our dreams bring us messages, and as we tune into our rhythms, and synch up with the rythms of the land. The earth starts to dream up through us, clarifying our purpose, calling us forward, and illuminating our gifts. Our ceremonies are an art of listening, to that wisdom which has been held in the earth and is just waiting to be danced up through us.

Permaculture:
Permaculture creates systems that provide for Human needs and the Earth’ s needs through mutually beneficial relationships. The health of our human community is linked to our local bioregion, which in turn is linked to the wellbeing of all ecosystems. We instill the ethics of Elemental Linking and Holistic Thinking. As every element becomes an integral part of the whole system, the whole community becomes more dynamic, harmonious, and energy efficient. These enhanced relationships reduce maintenance and stress, while increasing yields and happiness. These permaculture principles apply to our ecological relationship and our social relationships.

Play:
We instill the idea that work and play can be one in the same. We inspire youth and adults to follow the things that they are truly passionate about. We help guide each other to feel confident in achieving our dreams, and manifesting a life that we are happy to be living each day. We believe that the most harmonious accomplishments come from a people who love what they were doing, feeling that their calling, is a place where ones passion is meeting the thrist of the world and bringing sweet water to the driest of places. Through implementing these ceremonial practices, we learn how we can create space to deeply explore the blessings of being a woman.

We experience ourselves through ceremony and through play! We learn ancestral crafts, games, stories, and songs as we root into our bio-region! As we camp and hike our amazing landscapes, we explore the ways in which we can sustain ourselves through our understanding of the natural world. We learn a variety of earth skills including how to make fire, wild edibles, permaculture, plant medicines, and much more.

We call upon elders in our community to share their wisdom; we bring in strong role models to teach a variety of skills, crafts, and classes. Together we form a web that nourishes the fertile soil that feeds our growth and expansion throughout life. Based in North Berkeley since 1999, our camps provide a rewarding, enriching, memorable summer experience for creative and creatively-curious children in grades 2 - 12. No experience is needed, though even young actors with well-honed skills enjoy spending their summers at our camp, often explaining ''it's the summer of a life-time.''

We offer four popular summer programs: KIDS ON STAGE, ON BROADWAY, TEENS ON STAGE and BACKSTAGE for children entering 2nd grade - just graduating 12th. All our programs include a strong conservatory focus and emphasize the integral value and importance of each child's contribution to our productions.

KIDS ON STAGE - For youth entering 2nd - 6th grade.
Each two week session of KOS produces a short play based on a popular children's book, and concludes with a final performance for friends and family. In addition to rehearsing a play, campers will sing, dance, act and learn about stage craft. Swimming, one afternoon a week.

BACKSTAGE is an exciting counselor-in-training program for teenagers. Each counselor will select a specific focus, such as choreography, stage and set design, music, costuming, stage management or direction. Counselors will be actively engaged in one or more of our productions and gain valuable vocational training in their area of focus.

Stage Door Conservatory nurtures the social, emotional and intellectual development of children using by the performing arts as a vehicle of learning. By supporting children to express themselves as theater artists and engage collaboratively with others in the creative process, we help them develop both confidence in themselves and their potential and greater acceptance, appreciation and respect for others.

OUR GOALS

We will create experiences that nurture and support the creative lives of young persons, using musical theater as a vehicle for learning.

Our programs will serve youth in grades 2 through 12.

Our programs will offer youth a rich conservatory experience, providing them with opportunities to develop their skills as singers, actors and dancers, learn the art of stage-craft and perform publically as an ensemble in high caliber productions.

We will offer our programs to actors with all levels of prior experience and skill, providing opportunities for each participant to express themselves creatively and participate meaningfully in our productions.

We will encourage our young actors to regard and support one another as equal members of a collaborative ensemble, where each person's contributions are valued equally.

We will encourage our audiences to become members of a special circle of support and celebrate our young performers, not only participate as bystanders.

We will encourage our participants to reflect on their own lives, as well as the cultural, social, moral and spiritual themes represented in our productions, both to help them develop their understanding of theater and the contexts in which it was been created. We will help young performers to develop their capacities for empathy and respect for others, as they explore the human themes depicted in our plays.

We will encourage our young actors to co-create a community of caring with one another, and to communicate with one another with respect.

CAMP LIFE Many children regard Stage Door Conservatory a home away from home because we focus on creating a sense of community for everyone who join us. During our first week together, as in all subsequently weeks, we will focus on developing a strong sense of esprit d-corps among our campers ... encouraging the creation of new bonds between the children who are becoming newly acquainted as members of our ensemble, as well as the renewal of old bond among children who have spent prior summers together as members of our camp. Both ON BROADWAY and TEENS ON STAGE include many alumni who participate in our program year after year. If your child is joining us for the first time, please let them know that are not alone and that they will be welcomed and cared for ... within a day he or she will feel as much a part of ON BROADWAY and TEENS ON STAGE as everyone else!

AN ENSEMBLE and CONSERVATORY PHILOSOPHY

Both ON BROADWAY and TEENS ON STAGE are ensemble-based programs. During our first weeks together, we will encourage our young actors to collaborate in the creative process together and to appreciate and support one another as persons and performers. We will emphasize the unique importance of each child who is a part of our production, whether they are performing in a lead role or as a member of our ensemble. Because we are a conservatory, in addition to rehearsing and performing in a high caliber production, children participate in every aspect of our production, from costuming, to set-design, to props development.

CAMP FACILITIES: We stay at Oakes College overlooking the Pacific. Classes and rehearsals are held in the Music Building and a concert at the end of the week is held in the fabulous 300 seat Recital Hall.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: For the past twenty years Soundwall Rock Music Camps has provided a fun and academically sound environment to study and perform rock music. Having served the educational needs of over one thousand 12-17 year olds, this non-profit 501(c)3, has focused on placing education before profit. Our intention is for no student to be denied this phenomenal educational experience for financial reasons. Students leave the camp not only with increased musical skills but also a heightened self esteem - the result of a teacher directed combination of individual study and teamwork culminating in a truly life changing experience for teens.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:

CAMP FACILITIES: We have three total locations (2 in California, Irvine, and Yorba Linda). 1 in Chatham, NJ. Regarding the California locations, we have two offices and ample recreation space in each location. There is also a clubhouse in Yorba Linda called (the Troy Club) that is where we host activities for the Summer Camp. The Troy Club has an ample gathering space, a playground, tables and seating, and a large heated pool.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: SFCC uses a behavioral program to replace ineffective, inappropriate behaviors with positive and effective behaviors. Because the camp environments are similar to the camper’s natural environments, it is very likely that the behaviors taught at SFCC will generalize to the individual’s natural settings (home, school, etc.).

Stage Kids WA develops and nurtures young people's potential through classes, workshops and performances. Our professional staff encourages creativity and delivers quality performing arts training for both the beginner and the experienced performer. Fun is had by all as we emphasize life skills such as responsibility, confidence, teamwork and creating new friendships.

Stage Kids CA was recently honored as "Best family-friendly musical" for their holiday production of "Bah Humbug".

Often, the success of a show is determined by the number of tickets sold or the overall presentation. To us, the process is just as important (if not MORE important!) than the performance, so we focus on challenging and growing the children. After all, that's what makes a better show...theater skills are really life skills!

Stage Kids WA is a program of the Campbell Children's Theater Foundation - tax exempt under IRS 501(c)(3)

Through studying Michelle Danner’s acting technique you will accumulate a comprehensive set of “acting tools” to use when approaching a role or a scene, whether it be for film, television, or theater.

CAMP FACILITIES: Sugar Bowl's amenities include resort lodging, three catered meals daily, and full private access to the mountain resort for our camp. RVs can be accommodated with advance notice.

CAMP FACILITIES: Specialized equipment includes tumble track, sprung floor, rod tumbling floor, trampoline and double mini-trampoline, along with above-ground resi pits and skill-builder shapes (wedges, back handspring trainers, etc.).

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: TrampCamp is taught by the Camp originator, a USAG professional member experienced at setting up and restructuring trampoline and tumbling ("T&T) programs throughout the State of California. She has years of experience as both a gymnastics and T&T coach and judge. Her T&T programs have produced numerous State, Regional and National champions, as well as members of the Regional All-Star and National JumpStart teams. Basics and proper skill development are emphasized. This Camp is for anyone who wants to learn or improve their trampoline, gymnastics and tumbling skills at all levels, from the beginner who wants to learn how to bounce safely for fun, to the cheerleader who wants to work on tumbling skills, through the competitive athlete who wants to improve their skill level. The cost of each camp session (2 weeks) is $500 for grades K-6. The cost for one week only is $300. We offer children attending all four weeks a $100 discount, reducing the total cost to $900, and a second child/sibling discount of $50 per session.

The tuition includes all camp field trips, a camp T-shirt and two snacks per day. There is an additional fee of $150 per two-week session for our 7th and 8th grade Habonim campers, to cover the cost of special activities (like surfing and scuba diving). The full tuition for each session must be paid before the first day of that session.

CAMP FACILITIES: The camp uses Castilleja School's wonderful indoor and outdoor facilities, including gymnasiums, art rooms, stage, swimming pool, fields and classrooms.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: For more than 45 years, Casti Camp at Castilleja School has provided girls an all-day camp where fun, learning and friendships have been the focus. Casti Camp offers a range of age-appropriate activities including athletics, art, science, computers, writing, crafts, cooking, drama, dance and music classes each day. In addition, there are weekly field trips and memorable traditions, including talent shows, counselor skits, prison ball, BBQ Wednesdays, and more. OTHER CAMP INFO: The Project Endeavor Experience takes students and faculty from around the globe and works with each participant to hone their skills and talents. Each participant will be assigned a team and each team will work with a team leader to design a project or perform a routine or create a masterpiece that will be shown to members of that given field at a final banquet. The team that is elected by members of that profession will be honored at the event and will be able to meet with the judges. As a part of the Project Endeavor experience, each team will base their project and the competition on behalf of a local charitable organization. The winning team will receive a donation on its behalf from Project Endeavor to the selected organization.

US Performing Arts Camps is considered the premier top tier summer program for training young people in the arts. Our programs are taught by the university or college departments and their professional faculty and guest professionals in their fields.

These tracks are campers' concentration for each session. All instruction takes place in small group lessons and is led by experienced and enthusiastic female musicians, producers, artists, and teachers.

MEALS
Food, glorious food! All meals are delicious and included. Breakfast is typically served between 7:00–8:00 am; lunch is around 12:00 pm; and dinner is usually around 6:00 pm. This is subject to change, so please keep your ears perked throughout the day for announcements to make sure you don’t miss a meal. We offer both vegan and omnivore options and healthy snacks are available throughout the day.

SPECIAL GUEST ARTIST PERFORMANCES
Every session, a different band plays a live set for the girls and then sticks around for an intimate Q&A. In our end of program survey this was a major highlight for the girls. They learned about different genres of music and had a fun time listening to the bands and getting to engage in meaningful discussions with the visiting artists.

FINAL SHOWCASE
At the end of the session, all campers show off their original work at the Final Showcase for the whole camp community!

THE FACILITY
Amplify Sleep Away Camp is very proudly in residence at Besant Hill School. Set in the mountains of Ojai, California, this amazing facility boasts one of the best views in Ventura County. Campers have private, air-conditioned residence halls, a private pool, a movie theatre for evening films, and delicious meals provided (dietary restrictions honored).

CAMP FACILITIES: River Way Ranch Camp operates as a resort 9 months out of the year when camp is not in session. Campers stay in air-conditioned cabins, and sleep 8 to a room, with two counselors. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The seed of Sessions Songwriting and Music sprung to life in 2007 when its founder, Lauren Bruns, was discussing with a good friend and mother of two that there was a gaping hole in many of the musical programs offered in Los Angeles. Lauren knew firsthand how songwriting benefited her life as a young adult and set out on a mission to create an easy-to-follow curriculum that inspired kids of all musical levels to create and express themselves through original lyrics and music. Sessions teachers are graduates of USC, Berklee and other performing arts programs.

CAMP FACILITIES: MODERN FACILITY: Broadway Gymnastic School is a stateof-the-art gymnastics and children’s fitness facility offering all equipment used in the Olympics as well as trampolines, mini tramp, tumble trak, creative obstacle courses and the zip-line (a favorite among our campers). CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our spectacular gymnastics and sports camp incorporates exercise and education into a fun-filled day program. ACTIVITIES/TRIPS: Gymnastics is the foundation of our 2015 fitness day camp activities. Ball sports, swimming, arts and crafts, drama, music and dance round out the curriculum. We are also known for our educational field trips: Kid Concepts, Whale Watching, Sky Zone, Aquarium of the Pacific, California Science Center and Adventureplex.

Dance, music, art and science activities are scheduled throughout the summer. Campers get the chance to try new activities, discover new talents and gain confidence in themselves. Other special themed days include Bring- A-Friend Day, Karaoke, bounce houses, zip-lining, plus Water Days filled with water balloon activities and swimming adventures. TEXAS: Camp Shane Texas is set on a lovely 83-acre, beautifully landscaped and wooded campus with attractive and well kept facilities in gorgeous Texas Hill Country setting. CAMP FACILITIES: Shawl-Anderson Dance Center has four studios in a converted Berkeley Craftsman house. The center has been a vibrant part of the Berkeley community for over 50 years, teaching non-competitive dance to all ages and levels.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This immersion is for students who have just completed grades 8-12 with at least two consistent years of modern dance training. CAMP FACILITIES: Beautiful and recently renovated Black Box Theater. It has a stage and comfortable back stage. All of our props and backgrounds are designed and created by hand. Elevated seating that can fit up to 90 people. There is a ticket booth and a functioning restroom. Different types of lighting: black light, fluorescent, stage lighting, rope lighting, and a disco ball. A working sound board, music, and up-to-date stereo system. We utilize different media options as well.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: A sleeping princess, a spellbound Prince and more fairies than you can shake a stick at are all part of this quirky adaptation of the popular tale. The evil Trollarina exacts her revenge on the royal family by sending the beautiful Princess Melisande into an everlasting sleep, but little does she realize more than one spell is about to be broken by the kiss of an enchanted Faun.

We do not skip out on costumes! Every participant will be outfitted in a role and age appropriate costumes for the performance. The actors and actress will also interact with carefully designed and created props.

Students will be learning stage position, projection of their voice, blocking, how to interpret a scrip, read music, sing in a group, and dancing. Since the plays we do are musicals, the actors and actresses will learn the basics of singing. It includes, reading music, matching pitch, group and possibly solo singing, tempo, and rhythms. Our choreographer will teach dance positions, dance moves, rhythm, counting, and tempo. 1. Camp Challenge Four-Week JROTC Leadership Development Program.

This camp is the only credit-producing Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) summer leadership course west of the Mississippi. The course is open to both male and female high school students (entering Grades 9 through 12.) The course consists of a combination of classroom work combined with adventure training activities and will reward successful participants with 180 hours of Leadership Education and Training (LET) Credit.

During the course, participants will develop self-confidence as leaders and as active team members as well as enhance his/her Core Values; Honor, Integrity, Responsibility, Loyalty, and Selfless Service. Additionally, this course is designed to add “Leadership” to Resumes and College Applications.

2. Camp Challenge Two-Week High School Leadership Education and Training.

This two-week leadership camp is designed for both male and female students (entering Grades 9 through 12) who are unable to attend the four-week JROTC Course but who are still interested in achieving a leadership training experience. Camper will choose one of the following electives for their focus: Leadership, Aviation,Computer Science, or ESOL.

3. Camp Challenge Two-Week Middle School Leadership Development Programs (LDP), Basic and Advanced.

LDP Basic is an introduction to leadership for students interested in exploring potential and enhancing existing skills while learning the fundamentals of citizenship. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Lights! Camera! Action! This hands-on camp covers basic video skills and film techniques as campers explore the three stages of video production. Campers will write, direct, film, produce, perform, edit and showcase their own productions. Campers’ videos will be showcased at a video screening event the last day of camp.

CAMP FACILITIES: Pool and Lagoon
Our Junior Olympic-size pool affords campers the opportunity to work on and improve swimming skills, soak up the sun, or just play! It’s also the site of one of our biggest color wars competitions of each session, the all-camp Aqua Fest.

The Lagoon is the most popular place in camp on a hot summer day, and many of our late afternoons are spent here as other activities in camp are winding down. Paddle boats & paddle boards, rope swing, high jump, trampoline – there’s so much to do! The lagoon is fed by a babbling brook just waiting to be explored, and which carries native brook and German brown trout, making the lagoon a great fishing spot as well.

Dining Hall
Our lodge style dining hall is the heart of camp and has a truly historic lodge-like feel. Food is served & buffet tables are set up inside at mealtimes, while campers eat under the canopy outside, affording everyone a view of the sprawling meadow and lagoon. Our all-camp dances take place here, and on those rare but wonderful occasions when we get an evening rainstorm, we have someplace dry to gather for some indoor games, too!

Cabins
Each cabin at Mountain Meadow Ranch is unique in style, but every cabin has electricity, wall-to-wall carpeting, and is complete with its own bathroom and shower facilities. Many have a front deck that overlooks the central meadow, a great place to catch up with their cabin mates and enjoy the view. Campers sleep in their own twin-sized cozy wooden bunk beds with bedding or sleeping bags, all clothes and belongings are kept in trunks or luggage that slide under or to the side of their bunks. There are shelves and countertop space in the bathrooms. Laundry service is offered once a week for all campers and staff. It is priority that our cabins be clean, safe and comfortable. Cabin groups are separated according to age and gender.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Serendipity and flexibility are essential to our summer camp activity program – designed to allow each camper the ability to style the program according to what they want to do. Therefore, there is no pre-registration before camp for any of our activities. Campers choose which activity to participate in 2 to 4 times each weekday. We encourage campers to try as many new and different activities as possible, but in the end it’s still their choice.

Weekends are a little different, as they are spent as a whole camp family playing Color Wars. The entire camp participates in these events; however each camper still gets to choose what role they will have in each events.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Fun Camp
We partner with Fun Camp a nonprofit organization in Reno, Nevada. In 2017 we had 40 children come to Mountain Meadow through the generosity of Fun Camp. Over the years we’ve seen lives changed, walls broken down, hearts open, self-worth grow, trust formed, and lives changed!

ACA Camper Scholarship Program
We are in the process of setting up a scholarship fund through the American Camping Association as we speak! We are very excited about the future.

Our 27 day session is summer camping at it’s finest. It is in this longer time frame that the sense of coming together as a camp family is felt the strongest, and there is more time to enjoy all the activities and Out Trips! The Session Break Parties continue in 2020!
