Jen's Camp
Chicago, Illinois

Visit Our Jen's Camp Website
773-234-1323
jen[AT]jenscamp.com
2625 N Orchard St
Chicago, Illinois 60614

CAMPER AGES: 4-13

TYPE OF CAMP: Day Camp.

CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.

BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Jen's Camp was designed for kids and families! Our goal? Make the entire experience from registering to day to day camp easy on the families and provide the kids with great activities and choices about how they spend their day. We saw families struggling with programs that only ran for 3 hours and saw first hand the strain that added to family units. Our goal is to make things easy on the families. That means less time coordinating logistics. We are open from Monday, June 20 - Friday, August 12, 2022, Monday - Friday from 7:30a - 6p.

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: We are not set-up or staffed to help a camper 1:1. While camp cannot provide an aide, families are welcome to provide an aide for their camper as long as they are cleared by us first. Once we’ve received all the completed paperwork and confirmed background checks are clear for an aide, they will be able to attend camp with your camper. This is a long process as background checks can take weeks to clear so, if this is the right step for your family, we recommend reaching out as soon as possible to begin.

CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Dance, Fine Arts/Crafts, Video/Filmmaking/Photography, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Technology, and more.

CAMP LOCATION: We are located in the heart of Chicago's Lincoln Park! We rent the indoor and outdoor space at Alcott Elementary School.

CAMP FACILITIES: The indoor space is air conditioned and equipped with new filtered water bottle filling stations, restrooms, and is home to many of our activities including but not limited to: Stop motion animation, art lab, sewing (hand and machine), our relax area (think beanbag chairs, spa music, some essential oils in a diffuser from time to time books, chess, checks, etc), pool, table hockey, giant connect four, ping-pong and more! We also have access to the auditorium, cafeteria and 8 indoor classrooms.

The outdoor space includes a playground, full-size turf soccer field, lots of blacktop space for hopscotch, foursquare, chalk city and more! The entire outdoor space surrounded by an iron fence, which is locked during camp.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our fee is inclusive and covers morning and afternoon snacks, lunch and all of our offered activities, automatically. There are no extra registration steps for certain programs, no before or aftercare needed. We never leave campus so caregivers can drop off and pick up their campers whenever it is best for them within our hours of operation. We offer registration for the whole summer (best value), weekly blocks or by the day. Need just an afternoon? Snag a spot in our half-day pilot program from Noon - 6p.

The campers choose from the open activities (different activities are open at different times of day) and spend their time doing what interests them the most. All of our activities are designed to be intuitive, meaning even the youngest of campers can walk right up to the activity and get started. How? Meticulous preparation and plan ahead so that it all comes off as simple and easy to engage in.

We have visual guides for campers to reference and staff always nearby if a camper should want a little help or a high-five to celebrate some cool new thing that they just tried for the first time! From stop motion animation to hand sewing to water play on the turf field - we've got a great summer planned for your campers! Registration is open!

All of our staff will be up to date on their covid vaccinations, CPR/First Aid/AED certified, background checked and federal and state levels. We also have staff with food manager certification.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Scholarships are fulfilled for the season, however, if you are interested, please email Jen's Camp so we can put your on our email list for next year!

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We also run a spring break camp that coincides with Chicago Public School spring break week. (Monday - Friday)

OTHER CAMP INFO: Our areas are offered to campers as choices throughout the day. Different areas are open at various times throughout the day and campers can chose the areas that interest them the most:
Outdoor Recreation
Technology (Stop motion animation)
Indoor Games (Mini pool, ping-pong, table hockey, fooseball, giant connect four)
Outdoor Games (pack a swimsuit, we will open a water activity when the weather allows)
Refresh Area (beanbags, chess, checkers, books)

and much, much more!
Check out our website for more information!

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Registration is open for the entire summer, weekly blocks or day passes.
We are open from Monday, June 20 - Friday, August 12, Monday - Friday from 7:30a - 6p.

All registration covers all of our hours, activities, morning and afternoon snack and lunch! There is no need for before/aftercare, no registration deadlines and no rush to add the fun activities we offer! Why? Our camps and programs are offered locally throughout over 500 communities. The format includes traditional week-long summer day camps and year-round after-school programs that range from 45 minutes to 6 hours in duration, per day. Our progression of camps and programs, led by our expert staff, are generated toward youth looking for a sport introduction or those who want to refine and master their sport-specific skills.

For Detailed Information on ALL of our summer sports camps, please visit our website at Our Camp Website Link: www.skyhawks.com.

Our coaches and site directors make a significant difference to your child's on-field experience. Chosen for their strong personal character, responsibility, and capacity to effectively communicate sports skills to youth, our staff will make the extra effort every time to ensure that your children have the best on-field/court experience, emphasize teamwork, and learn life skills through sports. Our staff are required to complete our extensive certification process.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Skyhawks Sports Camps are SAFETY FOCUSED!

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. Additionally, it develops a level of trust between parent, coach, and child that ultimately leads to a fun and skill-focused camp for youth.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
