BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: New! QC Sports Club is a program for campers ages 9 to 14 who just want to play ball: Basketball, Softball, Tennis, Volleyball, Soccer and Swim...All Day Long! QC Sports Club includes instruction, drills, skills and fun. Each sport will be explored to engage the young athlete.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Dance, Musical Theater, Basketball, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Volleyball, Team Sports, Computers, Math, Science, Technology, Academics, and more. STEM Academy For A Hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering & Math. Challenge The Young Student In Problem Solving, Critical Thinking & Design Process Analysis With Fun In The Classroom.
CAMP LOCATION: Located only 6.7 miles from the Nassau county border or 10 miles east from mid-town Manhattan on the Long Island Expressway. Queens College is located at the corner of the Long Island Expressway and Kissena Boulevard (Exit 24) in Flushing.
CAMP FACILITIES: The Queens College is a beautiful landscaped 79-acre campus with out-door and in-door tennis courts and playing fields for soccer, softball and lacrosse. The Fitzgerald Gym is 40,000+ sq ft. basketball and volleyball courts and an 25 yard length pool.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: EDUCATION AND SPORTS PROGRAM: ages 5 -14 This program provides enrichment for youngsters who wish to develop talents and interests outside their regular schools. Faculty members have been selected for their ability to communicate the joy of learning to young students and to promote invention, creativity, and self-expression. All indoor classes are in air-conditioned classrooms. For the 5 & 6 year old we offer Kindergarten Academy or First Grade Academy which has small groups supervised by caring counselors. This program is combined with a half day of Sports activities, taught by experienced instructors who encourage the love of physical fitness, sports and good sportsmanship.
NEW QC Sports Club: Ages 9-14
Queens College facilities are among the best in the City. The spacious Fitzgerald Gym houses an Olympic-standard pool and basketball courts. Outdoor facilities include tennis courts, softball fields and soccer fields. Children ages 9 to 14 can choose a major/minor program that allows them to experience a number of different sports.
THEATER PRODUCTION: ages 9-14
Do you enjoy acting? Do you like to dance? Are you artistic—can you create scenery and costumes? Or would you rather go behind the scenes and become a stage manager? This program will teach campers the many different aspects to creating a successful musical play. The Theater Production will stimulate your child’s imagination while equipping them with valuable traits such as self-esteem and confidence. Join the fun as we put together a musical for parents and peers to see! Past musicals have included The Little Mermaid, Jungle Book, Oliver, Mary Poppins, and others!
LITTLE THEATER: ages 5 - 8
We will work on our dancing, singing and acting in the mornings then go have fun in the gym and fields in the afternoon along with instructional swim time. This year we're looking forward a production of Lion King and 101 Dalmatians. It's adorable!
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Counselor-in-Training Leadership Program for teenagers 15 and 16 focus on developing strong leaders. It helps prepare young adults for the next phases in their lives - college and the workplace. Gain job skills through training, discussion, observation & practical experiences. 8, 6 or 4 weeks programs. 8 week fee $2600.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: SPRING BREAK Sports Clinics: ages 6 to 13. April 10 to April 14, 9 to 3 $295. Children will concentrate on one specific sport in the morning and then practice with the Strength, Speed and Agility Team in the afternoon to pull it all together for a fun week. Sports to be offered: Choose: Basketball, Baseball, Lacrosse, Soccer, Tennis, Softball, Volleyball, Fencing (ages 9-13) OR Swim (level 5+)

OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp hours: 9 am to 4 pm. Additional early drop off hours available for 8am start and/or late pick up to 5pm for additional fee.
Lunch, "Grab-n-go" breakfast and mid-day snack is provided.
Bus service for all points Queens and Western Nassau County available for additional fee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-High School graduate
- Experience in working with children (babysitting, school field work assisting in classroom, etc)
-Strong desire to work with children
- Enthusiasm, patience and self-control

Hours: 8:30am -4:30pm
Monday to Friday approximately $300 per week.
Must attend mandatory orientation day in June.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
Supervise group to children attending to their needs, keeping them on schedule and assisting teachers at all classes
-Keep daily attendance records for group
-Help with lunch for all children
-Supervise safe transport of children from activity to activity
-Tend to all personal needs of children
-Assist teachers in their needs in conducting classes
-Accompany children to bathroom and water breaks.
