BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: French Woods Sports and Arts Center uniquely designed elective program offers traditional and not-so-traditional activities in an environment which encourages creativity, individuality, and of course FUN! Campers choose all their activities based on their interests with plenty opportunities to try new things.

Dance, Theater, Musical Theater, Music/Band, Fine Arts/Crafts, Video/Filmmaking/Photography, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Basketball, Football, Baseball, Weightloss, Soccer, Golf, Horses/Equestrian, Swimming, Tennis, Waterfront/Aquatics, Volleyball, Team Sports, Computers, Math, Science, Technology, Academics, and more. Circus, Extreme Sports, Role Playing Games, Adventure Course, Magic, Communications, DJ, ESL & So Much More!
CAMP LOCATION: Located on 200 pristine acres of open land and lush forest in the Catskill Mountains of New York, French Woods Sports and Arts Center is just 2.5 hours from New York City.
CAMP FACILITIES: French Woods Sports and Arts Center features outstanding modern facilities that include a spacious multilevel dining room, heated pool, gymnasium, gymnastics center, fitness center, technology/communications center, recording studio, large theater, dance studio, rock music center, immaculate sports fields, 4 tennis courts, indoor and outdoor volleyball court, indoor and outdoor basketball court, a baseball diamond, archery range, a private lake, equestrian stables, 14 studios for classes and activities, an open air circus area, an advanced medical center, and two large Dormitory buildings (bunks) housing multiple suites that sleep 8 to 10 campers and counselors with en suite bathrooms, plus 3 additional bunk buildings. All buildings are climate controlled with air-conditioning and heat.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: French Woods Sports and Arts Center provides the summer of a lifetime in a safe, supportive, supervised and age appropriate environment. Campers completely determine which activities they will participate in. Children are offered a wide range of activities that include sports, arts, technology, extreme sports, circus, rock music, electronic music, dance, water sports, DJ and radio, theater, communications, magic, cooking, role playing games, and equestrian. All that and more rolled up together into one incredible summer experience!
There are six activities per day, each one hour in length; three of these periods are called majors and three are called minors.
Majors are chosen at the beginning of each session and are maintained for two weeks. Minors are chosen daily at breakfast. This lets you concentrate on the things that interest you, while giving you the chance to try something new.
Empowering our campers to feel good about themselves and their accomplishments can increase motivation to try harder, try new activities, continues to build self-confidence, and achieve self-efficacy. The more you believe in your abilities, the more inclined you are to be motivated to attempt new things and become successful in those endeavors.
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CIT Program: Campers who are entering the 11th and 12th grades have the option of participating in our two level Counselor In Training program. A 4-week minimum session is required to be eligible for the CIT program. The CIT rate is the reduced rate of $1300 per week. Please contact us for more information on this program.
